Now is no time for anything
Only some dreams faraway
This winter I wait for spring
The rising of a flowering day
My ears are open to sound
That awakes songs into air
So much newborn is found
Pleasurable around and fair
Memories from gone past
I hold now close to my heart
When summer comes at last
Each of them I again impart

Hi Peter,
My name is Cormac Quinn from Newry in Ireland. I have been researching some people from my family background and my father tells me that we have relations in Iceland. He knows that his uncle Hugh Kevin Quinn (Born 1918) was posted to Iceland with the US military before or during the second world war and that he married an Icelandic woman -Christiana Rek Heyder Subec - this is how he remembers hearing her name so the spelling is obviously far from correct. He remebers them being at home in Ireland together when he was quite young around 1950 when he would have been 10 years old. He also knows that Kevin and Christiana had children together and that they then separated and that Kevin returned to America where he died in the 1980's possibly. It would be great if you could tell me if you are part of this family or not or if you have any further information about Quinns in Iceland. I found your name through simply googling 'Quinns in Iceland', and apart from any potential family connection I found your prolific level of musical, artistic, poetic and photographic output fascinating, I was especially interested in the work you have done in composing traditional Irish music for Hans Christen Andersson fairy tales. My own background is in Arts Management in the area of the Irish Language which has recquired alot of involvement with Irish traditional music over the years, I also spend alot of time working with Irish language television productions which envolve alot of traditional music performances.
I would be delighted to hear you thoughts on the above information,
and I can be contacted at cormacocuinn@hotmail.com
Yours respectfully
Cormac Quinn
